RRT Ministries June Newsletter~From Ashes to Testimony

Dear Friends,
As I write this month's newsletter, I find myself reflecting on how faithful God has been.
Over the past several weeks, I have had the opportunity to travel, spend precious time with family, connect with ministry partners, and continue the work the Lord has entrusted to RRT Ministries. During this season, I have been reminded that healing is rarely a single moment, it is often a journey. A journey of surrender, renewal, and allowing God to rewrite our story.
One of the tools I frequently encourage the women we serve to use is writing.
That may sound simple, but writing can be incredibly healing.
In Habakkuk 2:2, the Lord instructed the prophet:
"Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it."
God could have chosen any method, yet He chose writing.
Why?
Because writing slows us down. It helps us process what is happening in our hearts. It gives us an opportunity to bring hidden wounds into the light and invite God into the healing process.
Many of the women we serve at RRT Ministries are overcoming trauma, exploitation, abuse, addiction, abandonment, and deep emotional wounds. Often, trauma is not stored as a story. It is stored as fragmented memories, emotions, triggers, and pain.
When trauma remains unprocessed, it can feel as though we are continually reliving what happened.
Writing helps change that.
As we write, scattered pieces begin to form a narrative. We move from being trapped inside the trauma to becoming a witness to what happened.
Instead of saying:
"I am broken."
"I am the trauma."
"This defines me."
We begin to recognize:
"Something painful happened to me."
"It affected me deeply."
"But it is not my identity."
"God is writing a greater story."
Scripture reminds us:
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The trauma is no longer the story.
It becomes a chapter in the story.
Writing creates healthy distance that allows us to see God's hand, His faithfulness, and His redemption. Like Joseph, we begin to discover that God can take what was meant for evil and use it for good.
"But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good..." (Genesis 50:20)
The enemy wants our stories buried in shame, silence, and confusion.
God wants to redeem them.
When we write, we are not simply recording our pain. We are partnering with God as He transforms wounds into wisdom, trauma into testimony, and ashes into beauty.
Ministry Update
We continue to be amazed by all the Lord is doing through RRT Ministries.
This year alone, we have continued walking alongside survivors through one-on-one mentorship, Bible studies, financial literacy classes, practical support, and discipleship. Every week we see people taking courageous steps toward healing, restoration, and freedom.
Thank you for helping make this possible.
Your prayers, financial support, encouragement, and partnership allow us to continue showing up for those who are rebuilding their lives and discovering their identity in Christ.
Every conversation matters.
Every prayer matters.
Every seed matters.
And every life transformed reminds us why this mission is so important.
Coming Soon: The Great Exchange
As I return from my travels, I am excited to begin a new teaching series based on Isaiah 61 called The Great Exchange.
Isaiah 61 reveals the heart of Jesus to exchange:
Beauty for ashes.
The oil of joy for mourning.
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
This promise is at the very core of what we witness at RRT Ministries.
Jesus is still healing the brokenhearted.
He is still setting captives free.
He is still restoring what was lost.
And He is still rewriting stories.
Prayer Request
Please join us in praying for:
• Continued healing and restoration for the women we serve
• Wisdom and provision for future ministry opportunities
• New partnerships that will expand our reach and impact
• Favor for upcoming podcast interviews and outreach efforts
• God's direction as we continue developing programs that provide hope, healing, and restoration
Thank You
Thank you for being part of the RRT Ministries family.
Whether you pray, volunteer, give financially, share our content, or simply encourage us along the way, you are helping bring hope, healing, and restoration through Jesus Christ.
Together, we are watching God turn ashes into beauty and testimonies into beacons of hope for others.
